Currywurst with Original Berliner Sausage

| 200 g | Ketchup |
| 100 g | Tomato paste |
| 70 g | Applesauce |
| 70 ml | Worcestershire sauce |
| nach Geschmack | Salt, pepper, curry, sweet paprika |
| nach Belieben | Chili, some vinegar, sugar |
Preparation
- 1Fry the sausages in a pan with some oil all around until they are crispy and cooked through. Keep warm.
- 2For the sauce, put ketchup, tomato paste, applesauce, and Worcestershire sauce in a pot and stir together.
- 3Season generously with salt, pepper, curry, and sweet paprika. Add chili, some vinegar, and sugar as desired.
- 4Bring the sauce to a boil and let it simmer gently over medium heat for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning.
- 5Cut the fried sausages into bite-sized slices.
- 6Arrange the sausage slices on plates, pour the hot curry sauce over them, and sprinkle with some curry powder.
- 7Serve — classically with fries or a bread roll.
Notes & tips
ALLERGY TAMARA (avoid cow's milk + egg + soy): MOSTLY SUITABLE. The sauce made from ketchup, tomato paste, applesauce, and spices is free of milk, egg, and soy. NOTE Worcestershire: Original Lee & Perrins is soy-free, cheap brands contain soy sauce. NOTE Sausage: Original Berliner sausage is usually pure pork sausage, but may contain milk protein or soy - check the label. Season spices to taste. Tastes classic with fries or a bread roll.
