Sauerkraut with Bacon and Potatoes (Polish)
Braised sauerkraut with bacon and onions, served with potatoes — a hearty Eastern European side dish.

| 800 g | sauerkraut |
| 150 g | smoked bacon (diced) |
| 2 Stück | onions |
| 4 Stück | juniper berries |
| 1 Stück | bay leaf |
| 600 g | potatoes |
| 1 EL | oil |
| je 1 Prise | salt & pepper |
Preparation
- 1Peel the potatoes and cook them in salted water.
- 2Render the bacon in a pot, add the diced onions and sauté until translucent.
- 3Add the sauerkraut, season with juniper and bay leaf.
- 4Cover and simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 5Season with salt and pepper, and serve with the potatoes.
