Ingredients
| 60 g | Wheat flour |
| 30 g | Sugar |
| 15 g | Baking cocoa |
| 1/2 TL | Baking powder |
| 1 Prise | Salt |
| 80 ml | Milk |
| 2 EL | neutral oil (e.g. rapeseed oil) |
| 40 g | Dark chocolate |
Preparation
Step by step through the recipe
- 1 Mix 60 g wheat flour, 30 g sugar, 15 g baking cocoa, 1/2 TL baking powder and 1 Prise salt in a mixing bowl.
- 2 Add 80 ml milk and 2 EL neutral oil (e.g. rapeseed oil) and stir everything into a smooth batter.
- 3 Divide the batter evenly between two microwave-safe mugs (approx. 300 ml each).
- 4 Press 40 g roughly chopped dark chocolate into the middle of the batter and do not stir it in — when heated it melts into a molten centre.
- 5 Heat both mugs side by side at 800 watts for about 2–2½ minutes; alternatively, heat each mug on its own for 60–90 seconds.
- 6 The first time, check after 1½ minutes: the edge should be firm and the centre still moist and glossy. Do not heat for too long, otherwise the centre is no longer molten — serve the mug cake immediately.
Notes & tips
Chocolate centre tip: press the chocolate pieces into the middle and do not stir — this is what creates the molten centre. Microwave tip: wattage and time vary from appliance to appliance; check shortly before the end and serve immediately — the centre is only molten while warm. Serving idea: enjoy straight away with two spoons, optionally with icing sugar or fresh berries.
