Dry Martini
The queen of cocktails: gin and dry vermouth, stirred ice-cold, with an olive or a lemon twist. Strictly to be distinguished from the Vodka Martini, which is a recipe of its own (No. 7 in the Drinks International ranking 2025).

| 6 cl | Gin |
| 1 cl | Dry vermouth |
| nach Bedarf | Ice cubes |
| 1 Stück (oder Zitronenzeste, Garnitur) | Olive |
Preparation
- 1 Put the gin and vermouth with plenty of ice into a mixing glass.
- 2 Stir cold for about 30 seconds — do not shake, so that the drink stays clear.
- 3 Strain into an ice-cold martini glass.
- 4 Garnish with an olive or a lemon twist and serve immediately.
Notes & tips
Note: Contains alcohol — not suitable for children or pregnant women. This Martini is made with gin; the Vodka Martini is a separate, different recipe. The ratio of gin to vermouth is a matter of taste (e.g. 6:1 = "dry").
